Vape leaking? Here are the most common reasons why it happens and how you can stop it.
Reasons Why My Vape Device is leaking
Overfilled Tank
Excess filling of your vape tank may lead to pressure that may cause the e-liquids to spurt through air holes or the mouth piece. It is always good to leave a small opening at the top.
Loose or Improperly Installed Coil
The coils oil that is not screwed in or positioned properly may leave some holes through which e-liquid can leak. It is suggested that you should check the coil connection each time you refill your device.
Using the Wrong E-liquid
Thinner liquids (high PG) flow more easily and may leak in devices designed for thicker e-liquids (high VG). Use the e-liquid type recommended for your device.
Tank or Pod Damage
Cracks in the tank or pod, often caused by drops or rough handling, can lead to leaks. Replace damaged parts immediately to maintain a proper seal.
Temperature and Pressure Changes
Extreme temperatures or pressure changes, like leaving your vape in a hot car, can expand the liquid and cause leaks. Store your device in a cool, stable environment.
How to Fix a leaking Vape device
- Remove the pod or tank from the device
- Wrap your tank or pod in towelling paper and blow into the mouthpiece to force out any excess liquid in the coil chamber
- Wipe up excess liquid in the chamber with towelling paper
- Let the device cool down
- Check if the coil is fitted correctly or needs replacing
- Make sure that you don't overfill
Is a Leaking Vape Dangerous
Top leaks tend to occur when the tank is excessive, and even when the mouthpiece is not properly sealed. Superpressure will drive out the liquid on the upper airflow holes. To avoid this, refill the tank with some space left and make sure that all the top caps and lids are tightly closed.
Why Your Vape Device is Leaking from the Bottom?
The flows of your vape at the bottom might be because of loose coils, broken seals or filled tanks. E-liquid may leak out of the bottom when the coil is not fitted correctly, or because the O-rings are damaged. To rectify this, ensure that your coil is screwed in, ensure that all the seals are not ripped as well as not overfilling the tank.
Why Your Vape Device is Leaking from the Top?
Top leaks tend to occur when the tank is excessive, and even when the mouthpiece is not properly sealed. Superpressure will drive out the liquid on the upper airflow holes. To avoid this, refill the tank with some space left and make sure that all the top caps and lids are tightly closed.
